This paper provides an introduction to Narrative Therapy. This post-structural approach represents a movement away from the dominant therapeutic approaches that privilege psychological or biological theories over the client's experience of problems. Distinctions are made between narrative ideas and traditional psychosocial points of view in the areas of what a problem is, how change occurs, and about notions of the self. Narrative ideas and practices are illustrated by presenting work done with a problem affecting a young man in a school setting. Narrative work involves experience and meaning; the paper is organised to provide this for the reader.

Constructivism: A ‘Next’ Area of Scientific Development? / Zeeuw, Gerard de

Radical Constructivism has been defined as an ‘unconventional approach to the problem of knowledge and knowing’. Its unconventionality is summarised by its claim that it is impossible to attribute unique meaning to experience-as no mind-independent yardstick can be assumed to exist against which to identify uniqueness, and hence to produce knowledge and knowing. In other words, it is claimed that there is no ‘reality’ that is knowable to all individual knowers.

Komplexní posuzování potřeb klientů v rámci poradenského rozhovoru z hlediska přístupu zaměřeného na řešení / Zatloukal, Leoš -- Havlík, Miloš -- Doleček, Zdislav -- Šotola, Jaroslav

Potřeby klientů lze vnímat jako jeden z ústředních konceptů v oblasti poskytování sociálních služeb. Zjištění či přesněji „posouzení“ potřeb tvoří jádro individuálního plánování služby (Černáková, Johnová, 2002), a proto lze tuto dovednost považovat za jednu z klíčových kompetencí sociálních pracovníků a terapeutů. Posuzování potřeb má přesah i mimo rámec případové práce s klienty – mělo by se kupříkladu promítnout i na lokální úrovni do plánování sociálních služeb (Zatloukal, 2008a; Havlík, Koldinská et al., 2009). Tento text nabízí teoretickou reflexi pojmu „potřeba“ i praktickou inspiraci pro sociální pracovníky zaměřenou na otázku, jak lze postupovat při posuzování potřeb v každodenní práci s klienty.

Postmoderní myšlení jako možné východisko pro integraci různých terapetických přístupů / Zatloukal, Leoš

Příspěvek představuje základní cesty integrace různých psychoterapeutistických přístupů a prezentuje postmoderní myšlení - zejména (radikální) konstruktivismus a sociální konstruktivismus - jako vhodnou bázi pro integraci různých terapeutických přístupů Seznamuje nás se základními východisky postmoderního pojetí epitemologie a kazuistiky a předkládá určitá vodítka pro praxi terapeutů integrujících různé terapeutické přístupy v tomto filozofickém rámci. V článku jsou ukázány některé styčné body mezi postmoderním myšlením a stávajícícmi terapeutickými přístupy. teoretické úvahy jsou doplněny příkladem z praxe.

Práce se zakázkami v psychoterapii a poradenství: systemický přístup / Zatloukal, Leoš

Příspěvek se věnuje zakázkám, tedy dohodám o spolupráci, a to v kontextu poradenské a psychoterapeutické práce s klienty. V první části je věnována pozornost dojednávání zakázky s klientem. Jsou zde prezentovány postupy a techniky vycházející z tzv. „krátkých terapií“, usnadňující dojednání zakázky s klienty. Východiskem v této části je zejména teoretický model práce na zakázce (Ludewig, 1994).

A Systemic Approach to Trauma / Woodcock, Jeremy

We all have ideas about trauma, however the International Classification of post- traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) defines a traumatic event as something outside the range of usual human experience (American Psychiatric Association, 1987). Because trauma has this quality of being both part of common experience and a unique event, it helps to deconstruct it so that we are sure what we are dealing with. Deconstruction offers both a critique of trauma and a map that can offer a guide to clinical intervention.

Adlerian Therapy as a Relational Constructivist Approach / Watts, Richard E.

The author presents the elements of the postmodern perspective present in contemporary psychotherapy. Moreover, he indicates the usefulness of some therapeutic techniques, mirroring the tendencies represAccording to R. A. Neimeyer (2000) and Botella and Herrero (2000), an integrative bridge between cognitive constructivist and social constructionist approaches to therapy might be usefully labeled relational constructivism. This article affirms that Adlerian therapy— both explicitly and implicitly—is a relational constructivist approach, and consequently may serve as an integrative bridge between cognitive constructivist and social constructionist therapies. Both theory and practice issues are discussed.
