V tomto sdělení se pokusím na základě vlastní teoretické a praktické zkušenosti s měnící se tvářností psychoterapeutické scény zmapovat dosavadní hlavní proudy vývoje v oblasti pojímání psychoterapie, forem jejího uplatnění, jejích základních psychologických východisek a cílů a typických metod, ilustrovat je příklady proměn hlavních psychoterapeutických přístupů a kriticky je navzájem porovnat v rámci výkladu i v rámci průběžné diskuse o nich.

The Double Bind Theory: Still Crazy-Making After All These Years / Gibney, Paul

With fifty years having passed since Gregory Bateson and his colleagues published their famous paper, ‘Towards a Theory of Schizophrenia’ , it is an opportune time to review the theory and its clinical relevance today. Bateson’s team began with an interest in how the identity and functioning of self regulating systems was maintained through mechanisms of information, control and feedback. This work foreshadowed and gave momentum to the development of family therapy, with several members of the original research group later forming the initial schools of family therapy.

Mind the gap: the need for a generic bridge between psychoanalytic and systemic approaches / Donovan, Mary Ellen

The context for this paper is the ongoing systemic/psychoanalytic debate. It offers an alternative perspective to the recent contribution by Brodie and Wright (2002), in which they are concerned to underscore difference between the two therapeutic approaches. Here it is argued that the relationship is a great deal more complex than Brodie and Wright’s analysis might suggest. Attention is focused on significant areas of commonality, in particular the impact of social constructionist thinking across the two therapies as well as current developments in technique. A case is made for the consolidation of generic space where there is opportunity for cross-fertilization and for integrative and combined systemic/psychoanalytic approaches to be nurtured and developed where appropriate. Case vignettes are used to highlight different aspects of the generic component in child and family therapy and to underline the need for bridge-building between these key therapeutic approaches in the field.

On the subject of Autopoiesis and it's Boundaries / Kenny, Vincent

Two arguments are unfolded against the viability and advisability of applying the notion of autopoiesis to third-order systems. The first argument comes from the domain of psychotherapeutic praxis and elaborates a critique of 'boundary' and 'family' as third-order phenomena. The second argument , coming from the domain of ethics, uses the paramount individuality of personal consciousness to demonstrate that any third-order human system configured on the metaphor of autopoiesis would necessarily be oppressive, inhuman, and parasocial.

Ernst von Glasersfeld has dedicated a lot of effort to trying to define just where his views and those of his friend Humberto Maturana part company, epistemologically speaking (Glasersfeld 1991, 2001).As a contribution to unravelling this puzzle I propose in this article to delineate just where they seem to differ most and why these differences arise.

Na súčasnej úrovni poznania v psychiatrii, je potvrdené, že nemusíme poznať „skutočné príčiny“ základných „ochorení“, ale predpokladá sa, že pri pokračujúcom výzkume ich budeme poznať a toto poznanie prinesie špecifickú liečbu. Toto môže byť správne, ale môže to byť aj nesprávne. Je možné, že ideme nesprávnym smerom. Môže to byť tak, že problémy vznikajú a udržiavajú sa v reči, tak ako výsledok, dôvod, príčina a účinok ako navrhujú postmoderní myslitelia. Ak je to tak, naše dnešné úsilie príde do slepej uličky.

Praktická orientácia na riešenia - duchovná zameranosť na zdroje / Hargens, Jürgen

Ak dobre chápem úsilie svojich kolegov, potom som presvedčený, že každá terapeutická koncepcia sa snaží o riešenie problémov, liečenie chorôb, či odstraňovanie ťažkostí. Idea riešenia je predsa základným znakom každej pomoci.

Je to padesát let, co uplynulo od doby, kdy Gregory Bateson a jeho kolegové publikovali svou slavnou práci „K teorii schizofrenie“. Nyní je vhodný čas k tomu, aby se tato teorie a její klinické relevance přezkoumaly. Batesonův tým se začal zajímat o to, jak funguje (udržuje se) identita a seberegulační systémy v závislosti na informačních mechanismech, kontrole a zpětné vazbě. Tato práce předznamenala a dala impulz k rozvoji rodinné terapie, několik členů původní výzkumné skupiny později založilo výchozí školy rodinné terapie. Bateson s Haleyem, Weaklandem a Jacksonem vytvořili komplexní pohled na vzájemnou komplementaritu rodinného života a jeho eskalace.
