Thomas navštěvoval poradkyni Cheryl pět měsíců. S konzultacemi souhlasil na základě podmínky, jež byla součástí smlouvy s ubytovací službou. Tato služba mu pomohla odejít z ulice, ale musel dát souhlas s poradenstvím. Thomas neměl o setkání s poradcem zájem, ale smířil se s tím, neboť si byl vědom faktu, že je velice zkušený v odrazování zájmu ostatních lidí o svůj život, a to především v odrazování zájmu poradců. Předpokládal, že by mohl využít své dovednosti k tomu, aby byl z poradenství rychle propuštěn, ale aby současně splnil požadavek ubytovací služby.

his article reviews some of the recent advances in brain research and the grow- ing field of interpersonal neurobiology, which we believe supports a number of narrative therapy premises. Highlighted is the potential usefulness of thinking about unique outcomes as “moments” of “affect-infused” experiences. The concepts and theory proposed are illustrated by the description of three therapy sessions with a 28-year-old woman struggling with anxiety and depression, and a transcript of an intentionally “affect infused” re-authoring conversation.

Co-Constructing Cooperation with Mandated Clients / Berg, Insoo Kim -- De Jong, Peter

Dominant practice models for social work were originally developed and intended for work with voluntary clients. The professional literature indicates that use of these models with involuntary clients often alienates rather than engages. This article describes the use of solution-focused interviewing as a way to engage involuntary and mandated clients. A conversation with a court-ordered client is presented and analyzed to demonstrate how practitioners can begin the co-construction of cooperation with mandated clients through adopting a not-knowing posture, focusing on and amplifying what clients want and client strengths and successes, and asking relationship questions to generate possibilities for change specific to the mandated context. The ethical implications of this noncoercive, nonconfrontational approach are addressed, along with its implications for a view of how clients change.

Des micro-pratiques spécifiques qui peuvent contribuer à une experience de compétence chez le client , sont exposées dans un modèle composé de quatre quadrants. La transcription d’une session de thérapie illustre ce modèle.

Crafting the "Tap on the Shoulder": A Compliment template for Solution-Focused Therapy / Berg, Insoo Kim

Based upon their experience working in a community mental-health clinic using solution-focused brief therapy, the authors describe a template for developing compliments. With most people, the family is a central part of their social system and therefore key to solution building. The authors have found the template particularly helpful in promoting solution building within the family system and therefore a very useful component in family therapy.

Tento článek čtenáře seznamuje s narativní terapií, která svým poststrukturálním přístupem představuje odklon od převládajících terapeutistických metod, upředňostňujících psychologické a biologické teorie před klientovým prožitkem problému. Dále vyjadřuje rozdíly mezi tím, jak se liší pohled narativního přístupu a tradiční psychologie na to, co je problém, jak probíhá změna a jak člověk vnímá sebe sama. Pro představení narativního přístupu a jeho metod je popsána práce s dospívajícím klukem, kterého trápily problémy ve škole. Výše zmíněná metoda také zahrnuje práci se zážitky a smyslem, což se tento článek snaží svou strukturou čtenáři co nejlépe ukázat.
