This introductory tutorial is designed to give you a brief overview of autopoietic theory -- the term I use to denote the work of Chilean biologists Humberto R. Maturana and Francisco J. Varela. The following sections each provide a summary overview of a key concept.

Crafting the "Tap on the Shoulder": A Compliment template for Solution-Focused Therapy / Berg, Insoo Kim

Based upon their experience working in a community mental-health clinic using solution-focused brief therapy, the authors describe a template for developing compliments. With most people, the family is a central part of their social system and therefore key to solution building. The authors have found the template particularly helpful in promoting solution building within the family system and therefore a very useful component in family therapy.

Po dobu 2500 let vykazoval Západní svět převažující tendenci k chápání poznání jako představy organismu o vnějším světě, jeho struktuře a jak funguje. Představa nemusí být úplně perfektní, ale v principu byla chápána jako perfektního schopná. V každém případě se předpokládalo, že její správnost záleží na stupni shody mezi ní a vnějším světem nazývaným „realita“. Dnes není déle tento způsob uvažování životaschopný.

Western philosophers have with few exceptions perpetuated the belief that true knowledge exists apart from the knower. Although they have been unable to show how it might enter the human head, they have staunchly condemned as ‘genetic fallacy’ any investigation of how the knower might generate it. The essays in the section on the theory of knowledge are intended to provide teachers, parents, and perhaps students themselves with a more fruitful philosophical background.

Mind the gap: the need for a generic bridge between psychoanalytic and systemic approaches / Donovan, Mary Ellen

The context for this paper is the ongoing systemic/psychoanalytic debate. It offers an alternative perspective to the recent contribution by Brodie and Wright (2002), in which they are concerned to underscore difference between the two therapeutic approaches. Here it is argued that the relationship is a great deal more complex than Brodie and Wright’s analysis might suggest. Attention is focused on significant areas of commonality, in particular the impact of social constructionist thinking across the two therapies as well as current developments in technique. A case is made for the consolidation of generic space where there is opportunity for cross-fertilization and for integrative and combined systemic/psychoanalytic approaches to be nurtured and developed where appropriate. Case vignettes are used to highlight different aspects of the generic component in child and family therapy and to underline the need for bridge-building between these key therapeutic approaches in the field.

Interpretace je častý termín a to nejen v literárních vědách. Je používaná hudebníky a právníky, herci a kněžími, překladateli a psychoanalytiky, počítačovými odborníky a diagnostiky, a před nějakým časem, když se na trhu začala objevovat soukromá letadla, objevily se i publikace o tom, jak interpretovat mraky. Samozřejmě není neobvyklé, že je tento termín půjčován různými profesemi a je tedy používán v poněkud pozměněném. smyslu, obrazně, či dokonce nesouvisejícím způsobem.

The Origin of the Solution-Focused Approach / Visser, Coert

The solution-focused approach to therapy and coaching has its roots in the work done by herapists in the second half of the twentieth century. This article discusses some important recursors, such as Milton Erickson and the Mental Research Institute. Further, it shows how the members of the Brief Family Therapy Center, led by Insoo Kim Berg and Steve de Shazer, eveloped the core of the solution-focused approach in the 1980s. Key concepts and publications are discussed and a description is given of how the team members worked together closely to find out what works in therapy.

Dovolte mi na úvod říci, že prozatímní a spíše spekulativní nápady, které zde uvádím neslouží k tomu, aby zodpověděly otázku toho, co čas je v ontologickém smyslu. Jsem zaujat tím, jak přemýšlející mysl dokáže přijít na to, jak mít správné pojetí o čase. Toto pojetí bylo problémem od počátku Západní filosofie. Vyplývalo to z nesmiřitelného konfliktu mezi Parmenidesovým pojetím věčného, neměnného světa bytí a Heraklidovým ustavičným plynutím.
